Fall Favorites - #27

#27 - Oingo Boingo - Dead Man’s Party - This album might be one of the best hidden gems released in the 1980s. Ya everyone knows Danny Elfman for his brilliant soundtracks but equally as amazing as a songwriter and frontman for this group. Believe it or not, Oingo Boingo never really got the attention they deserved during their tenure. You have probably heard the song “Wierd Science” in the moving bearing the same name or “No one lives forever” in the opening scene of Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 ( which is horrifying - more on that later). Oh ya and Oingo Boingo member Steve Bartek who is a genius in his own right has worked on numerous arrangements the likes of "The Nightmare Before Christmas” and “A little piece of heaven”. Go put this Album in your Halloween playlist. Turn it up to 11 and rattle your bones.

Definitely agree they never got the attention they deserved! I remember the VERY first time I heard ALPOH, before I knew you guys were influenced by him, I IMMEDIATELY thought of Danny Elfman! And then, of course, fell head over heels in love with that fucked up work of art :)
